DEVELOPING COMPASSION, TALKS BY VENERABLE THUBTEN CHONYI, OCTOBER 19-21

Friday, October 19 7:00-8:30 pm – "The Buddhist Perspective on the Sources of Happiness and Suffering"
Venerable Chonyi will discuss the Buddhist view that happiness and suffering do not come from external things and people, but are dependent on how we view situations and relate to people.  In this way we can have more control over our happiness and suffering.
Saturday, October 20 ,10:00-11:30 and 1:00-2:30 and Sunday, October 21 2:00-3:30– “Developing Love, Compassion, and Altruism
By using the Buddha’s teachings on these qualities, we can cultivate them to increase our own well-being, and to be of greater benefit to others. Venerable Chonyi will talk about the benefits of love, compassion, and altruism and the techniques for developing them with an impartial attitude toward all.  
Sunday, October 21 8:00-9:00 am guided meditation on Chenrezig, the Buddha of compassion


All sessions at LTTT Temple, 2312 W. Overland Road
(Just east of the Overland-Vista intersection)

$15 per session or $40 for all
No one turned away for lack of funds
There will also be a fund raiser for Chenrezig Hall, Saturday, October 20 at  6:00 – 9:00 pm

Ven. Chonyi is a Buddhist nun practicing in the Tibetan tradition.  She is a resident of Sravasti Abbey, the Buddhist monastery in Newport, Washington and has received bhikshuni ordination at Sravasti Abbey under the guidance of Venerable Thubten Chodron.
