
Treasure Valley Dharma Friends is pleased to welcome back best-selling author and founder of Sravasti Abbey, Venerable Thubten Chodron. Originally, from California, she moved to India in the mid-1970s to study with Tibetan lamas. She soon ordained as a nun and since then diligently studied, meditated and taught. She helps countless people all over the world untangle destructive thought patterns and apply principles of Buddhist wisdom and compassion. She is an expert in monastic traditions and has been asked by the Dalai Lama to organize the reintroduction of the bikshuni vows in the Tibetan tradition. The general public is welcome to any of the lectures.
